Located in Dover, New Hampshire, the Hyder Hospice Unit serves as the region’s first inpatient hospice residence.

The Hyder Hospice House was opened by Seacoast Hospice,
 in 2007 to care for the needs of terminally ill patients and their families.


Today, Hyder Hospice Unit is in transition to eventualy serve Strafford County communities.

Here at the Hyder Hospice Unit, our goal is to meet patients and their families where they are – with the care that’s right for them. You and your loved ones can expect to and comfort, around-the-clock nursing care, emotional and spiritual support, as well as peace of mind that you and your family are in good hands.


At the Hyder Hospice Unit, You Can Expect…

A warm, home-like environment with private rooms and dedicated gathering areas for families.

Coordination between your Hospice Team, Their hospice medical director (hospice physician), and our Caregivers at the Hyder Hospice Unit.

Hospice trained registered nurses and hospice aides, who are on-site 24 hours a day to manage pain and physical symptoms.

Provision of medications, medical supplies, and equipment.

Social workers and spiritual care coordinators who care for the emotional and spiritual
needs of both the patient and family. Will be provides in coordination with the Hospice Team and the Hyder Hospice Staff.

Ongoing grief counseling and bereavement support for at least 13 months following
the loss of a loved one. Provided by your Hospice Team

An environment that welcomes visitors 24 hours a day.
